Youth Programs
Every young person deserves to have access to the opportunities that music provides. We support students across the Georgetown Divide through free school concerts, interactive workshops, and scholarships for lessons and instruments. Additionally, our young musicians can apply to perform in the annual Young Musicians Concert, an opportunity to feel the excitement and joy of sharing their music with an appreciative audience. We help young musicians to learn their craft, build confidence, and develop a lifelong love of music.

Young Musicians Concert
April 12 2026 | 3pm
Our annual Young Musicians Concert is an opportunity for young musicians to audition and to perform in public. We feel that this gives them the opportunity to share their musical passion and abilities and will encourage them to continue their musical studies.
The 2026 Young Musicians Concert Committee invites both new and prior participants to apply. Public school, private school, and home-schooled students are all welcome. A musical selection is prepared and an application and video are submitted to MOTD judges as an audition. The judges will select concert participants from the applications and videos submitted.
We’re looking forward to your participation!
We're grateful to Keith Williams for gifting us with his heartfelt song! Listen to it on Keith's KFOK broadcast above.
BESAN-TOMFOHRDE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Apply for a Scholarship
In an effort to encourage young people on the Georgetown Divide to include and embrace music as a part of their lives, we offer the Besan-Tomfohrde Scholarships to our local youth. These scholarships are for music lessons, instruments, high school seniors, and music camps are in memoriam of two of our founding members who were passionate champions of youth access and participation in musical and performing arts, Thia Besan and MaryTomfohrde. Music is a critical component in the development and education of young people, and we seek to further that education through financial support.
The scholarship program aims to support Divide youth by funding music lessons and instrument access, and by assisting graduating seniors pursuing a college music education.

JAMES AND ILSA WHITE SCHOOL CONCERTS AND WORKSHOPS FUND
In accordance with Music On The Divide's mission, this fund is specifically designed to bring musicians to K-12 students. Whether the artists perform or
provide workshops, this exposure to professional musicians can be transformative for young people. Your contribution to this fund helps students to approach the performing arts not just as an audience but with an understanding of the passion, skill, and presence that are involved in being an actual performer.
