SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
One of the ways our
community can help support Music on The Divides Scholarship Committee
is by contributing to its Scholarship Fund. Each year we do our best to raise
money to give a gift to a graduating senior, or seniors, at the May senior
awards evening. These awards are given to a Senior (s) who has shown exceptional
musical talent. Because we are a Non-Profit organization, monies are tax
deductible. The Scholarship table is located in the rear of the hall at every
concert .
SUGARLOAF FOUNDATION
SCHOLARSHIP
For the past eight
years, Sugarloaf Foundation has offered a ½ Scholarship to one of our
participants in the Young Musicians Concert held in February. Usually the
award is given by someone from the Sugarloaf Board. The Music on The Divide
Guild also awards a 1/2 scholarship on a yearly basis. In past years, other
local organizations have contributed to this fund; The Garden Valley Association
has given a 1/2 Scholarship and The WIFFS, an organization of women from
Auburn Lake Trails-meaning Women in Fun, Friendship and Service has contributed
$100. The Young Musicians Concert Committee is grateful to all these benevolent
organizations and individuals who contribute to these generous scholarships.
Obviously the lucky recipients do too.
We are exceedingly
pleased with the generosity of these community donors and thank them all
from the bottom of our hearts. IN THE YEAR 2009, THE COST FOR SUGARLOAF CAMP
WAS $420 PER CAMPER, PER WEEK (SESSION)
