Music on The Divide Scholarship Program

MISSION OF THE MUSIC ON THE DIVIDE SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE

Our Mission is to promote and encourage Young People on The Divide To Make Music A Part of Their Lives. Jeanne Koorn– Chair

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

One of the ways our community can help support Music on The Divide’s Scholarship Committee is by contributing to its Scholarship Fund. Each year we do our best to raise money to give a gift to a graduating senior, or seniors, at the May senior awards evening, who have shown exceptional musical talent. Because we are a Non-Profit organization, monies are tax deductible. The Scholarship table is located in the rear of the hall at every concert .

SUGARLOAF FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

This year, Sugarloaf's 1/2 scholarship was given by Erin Dealey who teaches drama at Sugarloaf and her presenation was very enthusiastic. She is the wife of Paul Zappattini who is President of the Board of Sugarloaf. This award was augmented by a 1/2 scholarhip given by the Music on The Divide Guild. Additionally, the Hangtown Optimists offered two 1/2 scholarships. Garden Valley Association gave one full scholarship this year. For the first time, an anonymous donor gave a 1/2 scholarship in memory of a musician and artist named Evalyn Morey Chamberlain, who died in Placerville at the age of 94 this past December. The Young Musicians Concert committee is grateful to all these benevolent organizations and individuals who contribute to these wonderful scholarships. Obviously, the lucky recipients do too.

We are exceedingly pleased with the generosity of these community donors and thank them all from the bottom of our hearts. COST FOR SUGARLOAF CAMP 2004 $390.00 PER CAMPER, PER WEEK (SESSION)
